Hello, my name is Melisa Bailey. I am a sophomore in Lyman Briggs College, studying chemistry. I'm currently undecided between secondary teaching or a more research-based career, possibly in quantum or nuclear chemistry. This summer I have been working, working, working. I live in Frankenmuth where I work for a small retail store and I also babysit twice a week.
When I'm not working, I try to get as much sleep as possible. I've also been attending weekly Bible classes at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church here in Frankenmuth. I became a member of ULC this spring and experiencing the Lenten journey with my new church family was both spiritually renewing and fun. I am so excited to serve both our congregation and our Lord.

Hello, my name is Lauren Huston and I am a senior at MSU. I am majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) and will graduate in 2011. After that, I will have one year of student teaching as I continue my education in graduate school, working towards my master's degree in learning disabilities.
I have spent my summer taking two classes, working as a lifeguard, and working for the academic orientation program through MSU. I have also spent time doing research and financial planning to take this upcoming Spring Break Mission Trip abroad. During my time off, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. In mid-August I will begin training sessions to be a resident mentor in Campbell Hall.
My favorite ULC experience was the spring break trip to Georgia. Not only did I enjoy the work and grow in my faith, I also made friendships that will last forever. During this week, we became a family and were able to work together and allow God to work through us. I am looking forward to the upcoming school year and all the memories to come at ULC.

Hello. My name is Erin Milne and I am a senior at MSU. I am majoring in genomics and molecular genetics with a specialization in bioethics, humanities, and society (a mouthful, I know!) and will graduate in May of 2011. This fall I will be applying to graduate school to pursue a master's degree in genetic counseling.
This past summer, I worked full time at the MSU Genetics Clinic as a student aide. It was a wonderful opportunity. In addition to working, I have been spending time with my family, raising a future assistance dog for Paws with a Cause, and volunteering at the Listening Ear, a 24-hour crisis hotline. I also spent a much enjoyed two week vacation in Scotland.
My ULC highlight was the 2010 spring break trip to Rincon, Georgia. It allowed me to grow in faith with a great group of ULCers while giving back to others. I had so much fun bonding with the others on the trip, working hard, and seeing the sights! I look forward to another great year at ULC!

I am Will Petro, a second year MSU student majoring in chemistry and mathematics. I hope, once I complete my degrees to continue on to medical school to begin training as an E.R. doctor. Over the summer I have been very busy working for MSU as a conference assistant and summer maintenance worker. At ULC I have really enjoyed all the meals that seem to happen every Sunday during the school year as it is a pleasant change from dorm food.

My name is Peter Schultz, and I am a Mechanical Engineering Junior at MSU. I hope to one day be an engineer in the automotive industry. I have spent the summer working as a co-op for Instrument Panel Quality at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren.
One of my favorite things at ULC is the bi-weekly Sunday Bible studies. Not only are they a good time to enjoy a meal with the other students, but it is also a great opportunity to interact with the pastors and learn valuable lessons the Bible can teach us.

My name is Sara Wiederoder and I will be going into my senior year at MSU. I am still majoring in mechanical engineering with a biomechanics concentration. Right now I am debating whether to go into industry or move onto graduate school somewhere studying something. I am currently leaning towards graduate school and continuing to study biomechanics.
This past summer I worked for The Dow Chemical Company in Midland. I was working on a project involving the optimization of diesel particulate filters. I also used my time living at home to convince my little sister (Amanda) that she really needs to come to ULC at least once a week and that she should also become a student associate after I graduate.
My favorite ULC event is always Spring Break. I became a lot closer to the other students on the trip and I always love giving back to the community.
